What is Community Supported Agriculture?

To take part in a traditional CSA, you pay upfront to help the grower pay for seeds, supplies and labor as the season begins. Then, as a member, you get a sizable share of veggies (or whatever the farm produces) on a weekly, or biweekly basis. Growers can tailor the model to whatever shape or size they want in order to fit the exact needs of the community who stands to benefit. It’s a win-win because you can support your local farmer —and broader local economy— while getting great value on the freshest produce available. 

How does the Plant Lover’s CSA work?

Our CSA is designed to let you get whatever plants you need, whenever you need them, and at an awesome value. When you become a member, you get a pre-paid spending account that you’ll use to buy plants for the season, with a bonus percentage on top from us! You’ll receive a beautiful, handmade membership card with your unique code and some simple instructions for how to monitor your account balance. You can use your account wherever we sell plants! It’s as simple as that. 

The Basil Membership is $150 and gets you $175 to spend as you choose. 

The Salvia Membership is $300 and grows to $355 of plant cash.  

The Tithonia Membership $500 option is worth a whopping $600. Thats $100 of free plants, and 20% of your initial investment!

Why we love it. 

In the late fall and winter months we are busy hatching plans, ordering seeds, and swabbing the decks for the coming season. It’s a time when costs are high and revenue is low, and therefor is the perfect time for all of you wonderful Plant Lovers to help us hit the ground running. Income from the CSA will go towards everything we need for the upcoming season, like seeds, growing supplies, and labor costs. Your contribution to us in the early season makes you an integral part of The Magic Garden, as you are ensuring a successful season to come. 

FAQ

Where Can I use my membership?

You can use your membership account ANYWHERE we sell plants.

• Farmer’s Markets

• Plant sales

• At the nursery

• In our online store. Preorders will be accepted starting in January (plants are ready for pickup starting in April/May).

  All we need is the unique, five digit code that’s on your membership card. Your code is also in the confirmation email for you membership purchase (search for Plant Lover’s CSA in your email and it should come up!).

  When shopping online, just type in your membership code into the ‘promo code’ space in the checkout.

  Lost your card? No problem! Just email us at magicgardenplants@gmail.com and we’ll make you up a new one.

Will unused dollars roll over to 2025?

No. Your Plant Lover’s CSA spending account will only be valid from the time of purchase until the following December 31st. Memberships are a seasonal product. If you want a type of plant credit that wont expire, check out our lovely gift certificates, which are available year round, and wont expire.

We’ll send an email sometime mid-season with the balance remaining on in your account.

When can I enroll?

You can enroll at any time!

Membership accounts are valid until December 31, 2024.

Pro Tips

1. Share a membership. Our Tithonia Membership gives you the best deal on our plants, but might be a little too much for one family. So why not join forces with a few of your best, plant-addicted friends and go BIG? You’ll all share the wealth of the Tithonia Membership ($100 of free plants!), and deepen your friendships with the simple and satisfying act of gardening!

2. Give a membership as a gift. Sure, putting shovel to dirt is great, but ask any seasoned gardener what is TRULY their favorite part of it all and they’ll admit its the SHOPPING… Many have a well tended skill for finding rare varieties, great deals or hard-to-find staples. Giving any size Plant Lover’s CSA is like giving a once in a lifetime SHOPPING SPREE to your favorite garden-obsessed, or plant-curious friend. They will seriously go BANANAS.

3. Use the Plant Lover’s CSA as a budgeting tool. If you have a tendency to get a few more plants than you intended to (we don’t blame you… we’re the same way!) and you’d like a way of budgeting for plant purchases, the membership allows you to choose a budget limit WHILE getting great value.

CSA Membership spending account cannot be used to purchase the following:

1. Other Plant Lover’s CSA Memberships

2. Gift cards

3. Garden design/landscaping consultation or labor

Memberships activated in December 2023 or after will expire at midnight on December 31, 2024.
